Pet TransportationGuardian Angels and World Pet Travel have been relocating pets for over a decade with proven successful results. We know well the requirements for getting your pet into and out of Costa Rica and other parts of the world. The documentation involved must be handled with expertise and precision to insure a minimal amount of time that each pet is away from their owner. One of our Representatives can assist you with the process required by governments on either side to make sure there is an easy transition for your VIP (very important pet). Quarantine or pets sitting in the customs warehouse will not be of concern to clients that have contracted World Pet Travel to insure that their documentation is in order prior to their pets arriving in Costa Rica. Documentation will vary from country to country so it is important to contact a representative of World Pet Travel for the most recent country requirements of the country you are traveling to or from. Rabies vaccines are only valid for one year when traveling into or out of Costa Rica. They should be over 30 days but never more than one year in duration. Costa Rica does not recognize a 3 year rabies vaccine. Some airlines will allow pets to be tendered as checked baggage in lieu of a suitcase when flying on the same flight as the pet. Not all airlines will allow this and certain times of the year there are no airlines that will permit pets to travel as checked baggage because of extreme temperatures. Check with your airline before making your own reservations if this is the type of travel that you plan to use for your pets. If you are unable to fly with your pet or need to send them on their own ticket, this is called manifest cargo and will require an import permit when arriving in Costa Rica. It takes several days and documentation preparation in advance to secure a quick release for your pet upon their arrival in Costa Rica. Paperwork will vary depending upon what country you are destined for and your relocation specialist can assist you with all that you need to insure a safe arrival for your pet into the country of your choice.
Sedating your pet for air travel is strictly forbidden as it can be hazardous to their health. The effects of the sedative intensify at the higher altitude which can be harmful to your pet and in some cases cause death. The bottom line... World Pet Travel will provide guidance and assistance for all of your pet transportation needs. Coordination of details with airlines, veterinarians, government agencies and foreign consulates are all matters that will be handled by your Pet Transportation Specialist to insure a safe and stress free move.
