Pet TransportationGuardian Angels CR Relocation Specialists have been relocating pets for several years now, and we know well the requirements for getting your pet into or out of Costa Rica. One of our Representatives can assist you with the process required by governments on either side to make this an easy transition for your VIP (very important pet). People often ask if there is a quarantine period leaving or entering Costa Rica and at the present time, the answer to that question is NO, provided you have the proper documentation. This list of necessary documents vary from country to country so it is important to contact one of our Representatives for the latest, most current requirements. Member of The Independent Pet and Animal Transportation Association International, Inc.One thing that has not and is not likely to change is the requirement for a rabies vaccine. This vaccination must be administered at least 30 days prior to departure and no more than one year before at the time of travel. The Costa Rican government will not acknowledge a three-year rabies vaccine. You can bring your pets on most airlines as checked baggage if you plan to fly on the same flight as your pet. They will take the place of one of your checked bags although they are kept in a separate area from your luggage. The port for the pets is pressurized and temperature controlled so your beloved will be as comfortable as you during the flight. If you can’t fly with your pet, you will need to send them as manifested cargo and it really is not as scary as it sounds. Your pet will do just fine whichever way you need to send it. We can assist you with getting the right reservations and the best connections if you are leaving Costa Rica with your pet. If you are coming into Costa Rica, you will need assistance with clearing customs and we have Representatives at the cargo terminal that can handle everything for you decreasing the time your pet stays in the warehouse to only a few hours rather than days if you try to do it alone.
Please note that sedating your pet is forbidden by ALL of the airlines. Sedating your pet for the trip can be fatal to him/her. If you need to give a sedative to someone, take it yourself, your pet will travel much better and you won’t be so worried. The bottom line…Guardian Angels will provide guidance and assistance with ALL of your pet transportation needs. We will coordinate all the details with the Airlines, Veterinarians, IPATA, and Foreign Consulates when necessary and of course with YOU the family. We concentrate on making this the least stressful part of your trip for both you and your pets. For more information call toll free E-Mail: info@relocationcr.com (C)2008 relocationcr.com.
